Wellbeing Wednesday 3rd February

Today is wellbeing Wednseday for us as it is Children's Mental Health Week.  In the above document there are a variety of activities for you to do throughout the day to help with staying fit and healthy.  We will be joining together in the morning at 9.15 for a class assembly session.

Welcome to the start of a new week!!

This week is Children's Mental Health Week and we will be taking time out on Wednesday to focus on our well-being - Well Being Wednesday.  Wednesday will start with a class assembly session and then a number of activities have been prepared for the day to help give the children a break from their screens and usual learning patterns and to focus on their well being.

The TEAMs timetable for the rest of the week is below.

Our English sessions this week will focus on the Information Text about the extremely rare rhi-swan-o-zebtah.  Our week will begin with focussing on some of the vocabulary within the text and exploring the meanings of it.  We will also further explore the text with some reading focussed tasks.  Towards the end of the week, our focus will shift to exploring some areas of grammar, particularly the use of brackets and adverbials to start sentences and create our own sentences.

Children will also need to continue with their daily reading and spelling tasks.

We will be further practising and developing our confidence with multiplication.  We will use our learning over the previous weeks around multiplying by 10, 100 and 1000 and our times tables knowledge to build from multiplying 2-digit, 3-digit and 4-digit numbers by a single digit to multiplying 2-digit, 3-digit and 4-digit numbers by other 2-digit numbers.  We will look at a range of methods along including visual representations to support children's depth of understanding.

South America Topic

We will be concluding our learning focus on Brazil and start exploring the biomes of the world.  Towards the end of the week we will be exploring the language of South America - Spanish!  Children are also encouraged to further submerge themselves in the world of South America through some dance links with a Latin American twist!

We have a busy week ahead!! Please ensure you attend your on-line sessions with Miss Willey and remember all independent learning tasks should be emailed to the class e-mail or uploaded to your class notebook on Teams.

Finally don't forget the end of the day catch-up when we also share our class book, The Explorer by Katherine Rundell.  Please do remember to join these sessions as it is a great way to catch up on our learning; see all members of the class; and just have some chill-out time with the rest of your class-mates.
