'Adventure Together; Learn Forever'

"Pupils enjoy coming to school. They feel well cared for and they want to achieve well." OFSTED report, 2017

WB 01.02.201

Overview of the Week!

In maths this week, we will continue to look at how we can use arrays to show our thinking about multiplication and division strategies. We will explore further the relationship between multiplication and division. Finally, we will start thinking about written methods of multiplication.

On Monday we are kicking off ‘Children’s Mental Health Week’ by thinking about how we can use ‘10 a day’ to look after our own mental health.

From Tuesday, we are going to look at some different forms of poetry, identify the techniques used and have a go at writing our own!

On Friday, we will be applying our comprehension skills through answering questions based on the trailer for ‘A Perfect Planet’.

In topic this week we are continuing our learning on volcanoes and earthquakes. To finish our learning on volcanoes, will learn about what happens when a volcano erupts. We will then start learning about earthquakes in more detail. We will be finding out why earthquakes occur, what happens when an earthquake occurs, and finally how we can protect against earthquakes.

This week it is Children’s Mental Health Week, a week which holds extra significance during these strange times.

Along with the rest of KS2, we will be coming off timetable on Wednesday to spend the day thinking about and engaging in activities to support our mental wellbeing. Our small groups Teams lesson on Monday will put this into context for the children.
